The level design is among the best ever in an online shooter like this one. The system isn't convoluted at all. It's just a simple, efficient and fast way to direct you to where you need to be! Warping wouldn't make sense... That means both teams would warp to each other again and again after spawning and you would never leave a concentrated battle area. You might as well just throw everyone into a non-descript, square room and just have them fire at each other at will.
I don't know. Seems like a lot of trecking about just following a line on the floor. Sounds like a dull option to me. Now a decent map would really help improve tactical play. Here's a concept I whipped up of how something like that could work:
Ohhh... If this was all an elaborate Splatoon reference, it went completely over my head. Never played it...
You don't always follow a line, and you can certainly NOT follow it or just deviate from the path. Once you learn the map, you'll no longer even notice the line is there!
Knowing you'd love Splatoon as evidenced by PvZ and this, I couldn't help myself.
I'm sure the line works well too, but it does seem like a rather cluncky way of solving a problem if you've played Splatoon. Does the line keep following you like a GPS if you chose to ignore it, or does it disappear,
It just leads from your starting point to the objective, showing you the quickest route there. It's not relative to you, it's literally just a path on the ground. To be honest, I don't even know if it disappears or not. Once you use it once or twice, you literally forget it's there!
Not normally a Sniper type, but I tried out Widowmaker and OMG! Love her! Feel like a bad-ass when you score a few shots, one after the other!!
L1 throws out a grappling hook to reach higher ground. R1 throws out a poison mine; perfect for protecting your sniping perimeter. R2 fires an automatic pulse gun, but holding L2 switches to a sniper shot, fired by R2. Her ultimate weapon 'Triangle' allows her team to see where the enemies are on the battlefield!!
Tobjorn builds defensive Turrets with L1, throws out armor for his team-mates to pick up with R1. Switches between a rifle and shotgun with the pressing of L2, or can switch to a hammer by pressing right on the control pad to damage enemies or upgrade his Turret.
So far, I think I've tried out every role except for the simple offensive type. Tank, Support, Builder and Sniper... Yup, yup and yup! All good! I'm reaching the point where I can support a team no mater what role is needed to fill. So. Good!
As a gamer with a pulse, how can you watch this and not get at least a little intrigued?
I know I'm probably just stating the obvious, but these are --NOT-- done by Pixar, these are Blizzard-produced shorts!

Easy, omg is that part of an awesome action adventure game where you control all kinds of cool characters with unique powers and go through amazing levels and battle enemies.
Oh it's a multiplayer only game, nevermind then. I'm sure the game is fantastic, will play when free.

Yeah they would actually be good if they were Pixar.
Vader; I can understand your disdain for it being multi-player only, but a single player campaign just wouldn't fit here with such a diverse cast. It's still rather early to tell, but this seems to be a rare game where paying for a multi-player only title is worth the money.
Game is dope, been having a lot of fun learning different characters. It's a shame you get paired with teammates that are dumb as bricks, but what are youn gonna do. A lot of the mp only games this gen have been my cup of tea. Rocket League is probably my favorite game this gen at this point, Rainbow Six: Siege is divine (and made by shitty ass Ubisoft of all people), This and Titanfall are a blast, and I might even pretend Splatoon and Halo 5 don't come with the campaigns they come with, since those modes blow cock. Well I assume Halo 5's campaign blows cock, didn't even bother playing it.
Oh Travo, If you were only with me in the game before I joined you...
I had 27 eliminations!!
Probably my personal best in ANY online shooter ever!!
The game is going to seem impossibly frantic until you get a few characters under your belt.
Winston is a good start, but you need to (1) Stay very mobile using his pounces (L1) and (2) Get used to throwing down his barrier (R1) for your own benefit and for others around you!
Here's a cool trick I just discovered today with Winston: If you are protecting or escorting a moving target, jump ON the target and put down a barrier (R1). It protects you --and-- moves along with the payload!!
Yeah, I had no clue what I was doing. I can't wait to learn the ropes so I can probably get better.
Sounds like sloppy level design to me if suc a convulted system is required. Now what would be a real stroke of genius would be a seperate screen of some sort that shows you an overview of the whole level, while giving you the option to warp to your teammates at will.
